Coronavirus Update: Changes in Operations and Programs

Friends of the Urban Forest has created this web page to inform our community about how we’re responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our overarching goals are to take all appropriate measures to protect the health and well-being of our staff and volunteers, and to continue the vital work of greening San Francisco as best we can.

We are following these practices until further notice:

  • FUF staff are planting, watering, and caring for trees, and installing sidewalk gardens, with support from skilled and experienced volunteers (including planting leaders and Community Foresters) and small volunteer groups (such as corporate teams, clubs, religious groups, etc.) who have proof of vaccination;
  • We’re currently making plans to enable all volunteers to join us for future tree planting, tree care, and sidewalk gardening projects; stay tuned for information on how to sign up;
  • Our offices in the Presidio are not open to the public.

We hope these temporary measures help safeguard our wonderful San Francisco community and its most vulnerable members. We welcome you to contact us via email, phone, and mail.
