Deep, flat green obovate leaves, 4-6" long, with pale undersides.
- Flower:
5–10” saucer shaped flowers. Somewhat fragrant and colored white, pink, or light purple.

2–4” cone-like fruits composed of many red seeds.
- Bark:
Grayish brown, smooth, with small bumps.
- Watering:
In general, 15-20 gallons per week for the first 2 years; 15-20 gallons twice a month for the 3rd year; as needed after 3 years (varies by soil, sun, and wind conditions).

Moderate. Early pruning needed to train a good shape; pruning needed less frequently with age.
- Tolerance:
Any soil, some shade.
- Special Considerations:
Blooms relatively early in its life. Requires less space than other magnolias. Susceptible to scale and leaf spot. Leaves will burn in wind.

Hybrid originating in France. Leaves are lighter green and more delicate than other magnolias.
