Evergreen; round form; moderate canopy.
- Foliage:
Dark green, needle-like leaves, 1" long.
- Flower:
Yellow-white flowers, in clusters 1" across, bloom April-July.
- Fruit:
Hard, brown seed capsules, 1/4" across, persist on tree for years.
- Bark:
Shredding, light brown bark.
- Watering:
In general, 15-20 gallons per week for the first 2 years; 15-20 gallons twice a month for the 3rd year; as needed after 3 years (varies by soil, sun, and wind conditions).

Low. Requires occasional pruning.
- Tolerance:
Drought; poor drainage; any soil; salt air; gusty winds; fog.
- Special Considerations:
Prefers sun. When planting, handle rootball with care or tree will go into transplant shock. Do not let rootball dry out during establishment period. Needs extra water in hot or windy conditions.
